MANIFESTO

Most conventional menstrual products contain a high percentage of plastic—sometimes up to 90%—and may include additives like fragrances or processing residues that can irritate sensitive skin. As awareness grows, many brands are turning to “organic” alternatives. But not all natural claims tell the full story.

A product labeled “organic” refers to how raw materials are grown—not necessarily how they are processed. Even organic cotton or bamboo can undergo treatments such as bleaching or chemical finishing during manufacturing.

Naturally, cotton and bamboo fibers are off-white—not bright white. That ultra-clean look often comes from additional processing steps like bleaching. While commonly used methods (including hydrogen peroxide) are considered safe in regulated amounts, they still alter the material and may not be ideal for those with very sensitive skin.

At Awenda, we take a different approach.

Our pads and liners are intentionally left in their natural, off-white shade—free from unnecessary whitening processes and harsh chemical treatments. We focus on minimizing processing wherever possible, so what touches your skin stays closer to nature.

No shortcuts. No unnecessary additives. Just thoughtfully designed products that work in harmony with your body.

Clean. Simple. Considered.

That’s the Awenda way.
